Warm temperatures and staying safe

Whilst we all look forward to the dry weather for getting out and about on the bikes, the hot weather can bring its own issues. Whilst no-one wants to jump into thick leathers and heavy biking kit on a baking hot day, we still need to be mindful of our safety. Coming off in the sun isn’t going to hurt or cause less injury than coming off in the rain.

One thing you do need to do, before we even start to think about what to wear, is to make sure you are hydrated. If you’re out for a while in the heat, make sure you plan in plenty of stops and keep the fluids flowing.

Whilst none of us plan to come off when riding, no matter how experienced a rider you are, sometimes it happens. We can’t control everyone else on the road and as the saying goes, ‘Dress for the slide, not for the ride’. You don’t wear motorcycle clothing to the beach or in the park so don’t wear beach and park clothes on the bike.

Inmotion have a huge range of mesh summer jackets available as well as lightweight hoodies, all of which have protective padding. These are also available with 15% off to loyalty members so there really is no excuse.

Kevlar jeans are a light weight alternative that still provide the protection that you need along with lightweight summer gloves.
